Description
The history of Château Lilian Ladouys merges with that of the Médoc. Born in the 16th century, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the 19th century, the estate is now back in the spotlight thanks to the Lorenzetti family.
The Lorenzettis put all their passion and ambition into the service of the wines, which continue to progress and gain in reputation. They have undertaken extensive work to concentrate on the best terroirs and to modernise the production facilities. They also surround themselves with a competent and dynamic team who practice precision viticulture, respectful of the environment. A strong symbol of this renewal: the Château won the Coupe des Crus Bourgeois in 2015.
Tasting
Eye : A deep garnet-red colour with superb purple highlights.
Nose : Explosive with notes of crushed raspberry, cherry brandy and bitter cocoa. These are supported by intense floral notes reminiscent of a bouquet of spring flowers, followed by aromas of cedar and sandalwood.
Palate : An ample attack, with volume and fatness, leads to a dense palate, with a powerful and velvety texture. We find the generosity of the 2016 vintage in this perfect balance between freshness and greed. The cherry is fully expressed, reinforced by notes of orange peel, chocolate and nutmeg. The long finish is accompanied by chalky tannins, characteristic of the great success of the Merlot on our asteriated limestone terroirs.
Alcohol level : 13.5
