Description
Poncha is a typical Madeiran drink, originating on the Island of Madeira in the middle of the 18th century, at the hands of the English.
Throughout the 19th century, poncha was a popular drink among Madeiran families. Today, the poncha tradition is alive and well among the Madeira population. The equipment used to prepare these drinks remains fundamentally unchanged.
