Description

Founded in 1954 and inserted in the Natural Park of Serra de São Mamede, ever since, the Adega de Portalegre Winery distinguished itself by the quality and originality of its wines.

The region of Portalegre is a terroir unique, allowing that the Adega de Portalegre Winery creates its wines with a huge eccentricity, singularity and personality, expressed by the numerous national and international awards that it has been receiving for over more than 60 years.

Nowadays the Adega de Portalegre Winery is one of the most emblematic producers of the region, which envisions the production of wines that reflect the essence of this unique terroir.

This single estate wine has its origin in a unique vineyard located in the mountains of Serra da Penha, at an altitude of 650mts, growing in very poor granitic and quartz soils. The grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon, were stemmed and vinified in small winepresses in contact with submerged cap, originating a wine of great intensity and vigour.
