Maison Joseph Drouhin
Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 2017
aoc

Cépage Pinot Noir
Elevage 14 to 18 months in oak (20% in new)

Description

In 630, a winegrower from the Côte de Nuits named Bertin decided to plant pinot noir on his land, copying the practices of the neighboring monks. The result was spectacular and the wine from "Bertin's field" became famous and inspired the name of the village.

In the north of the Côte de Nuits, a village famous not only for its nine divine Grands Crus. A wine whose quality matches the reputation of its name.

Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru is made from different Premiers Crus produced on parcels too small to be vinified separately, making what is commonly called a cuvée ronde. They are harvested together, as if they were a single entity.

Tasting

"Beautiful, bright ruby colour.

The fruity aromas (black cherry, blackberry) mingle with hints of liquorice. The nose reveals notes of spices and nutmeg evolving towards scents of mushroom.

The tannin is present but not too strong. Great aftertaste".
