Vallée de Uco
Description
Located 120 kilometres south of Mendoza in Argentina, near the village of Vista Flores, the Flechas de los Andes winery vineyard now covers 100 hectares at the foot of the Andes Mountains. Planted since 1999, it has a high density for Argentina (5,500 vines per hectare).
The Aguaribay is the typical and emblematic tree of the Mendoza region, perfectly adapted to the medium altitude conditions of the Andes. It is frequently found in the foothills of this majestic mountain range. A member of the pepper family, this evergreen tree is very recognisable by its elegant, fine, serrated and drooping leaves. At the foot of the Andes, 120km south of Mendoza, on this land where the Aguaribay grows, they have planted their vineyard at 1100m altitude. The Malbec grape variety reigns supreme in this unique Cordilleran terroir, alongside the Aguaribays that border some of the vineyard plots.
