Description

It all really began in 1552, when Pierre de Lhomme, a rich cloth merchant from Bordeaux, bought the noble house of "Guyscoutz", built a vast estate around it and planted the very first vines.

The wine-growing adventure was underway and the successors of this rich merchant knew how to add their stone to this formidable structure.

In the 19th century, under the impetus of the Promis, Pescatore and other Crusque families, Giscours was adorned with its most beautiful finery: transformation of the château into a neo-classical palace, development of a park with rare species by the landscape architect Eugène Bülher, modernisation of the production tools with the construction of huge farm buildings, including the famous Suzanne Farm.
