Description

Property
Located in the north of the Médoc on the hill of Saint-Estèphe, Château Cos Esournel appears majestic. Like a real maharaja's palace, the château and its pagodas surprise and captivate the eye. In 1791, Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel inherited hectares of vines and had the winery built. An adventurer and world traveller, his penchant for exoticism and the Orient helped Château Cos d'Estournel to create this unique architecture in the Médoc. Since 2000, Château Cos d'Estournel has been owned by Michel Reybier and continues to shine in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. It joins the ranks of the world's greatest wines and is characterised by its unique style, in which the taste for beauty and excellence is a constant endeavour.

The vineyard
Château Cos d'Estournel is the benchmark among the great wines of Saint-Estephe and enjoys an exceptional geographical location. The vineyards are located on the edge of the plateau, in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde estuary. Thus, the vineyard benefits from a maritime climate and is at the same time protected from storms. The vines are planted on two slopes and a central plateau, benefiting from an ideal orientation and good ventilation.

Tasting
