Ch. Calon Segur 2000

The great wine of Calon Ségur is the image of its terroir: rare, authentic, moving. With a great deal of naturalness, it reveals both a great sweetness and an exceptional intensity.

The magic of Calon lies in this balance. The style is carried by a Cabernet Sauvignon that reveals its finesse without arrogance. Elegance is everywhere, in the purity of the flavours, in the delicacy of the texture.

Finally, the depth and length are remarkable. The wine's extraordinary bottle life is another characteristic of the estate. The 1947, 1953 and 1982 vintages, for example, show astonishing signs of youth.

The restructuring of the vineyard has been underway since 2006, aiming to increase the density of planting as well as the proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon to the detriment of Merlot. The wines are thus more concentrated and exceptionally mature. In more recent years, the wines are distinguished by their depth, developing an exceptional aromatic palette with hints of undergrowth, graphite, black fruits and spices.
