Marchesi Antinori

Marchesi Antinori

https://www.antinori.it/it/

The family name Antinori appeared for the first time in a historic deed of sale in which Accarisio di Antinoro (the forefather of the family whose surname was passed down to his descendants) sold some land and churches around Combiate, an area in the Florentine countryside on the way to Mugello, to the Monastery of San Michele a Passignano. However, Accarisio's family kept some of the property rights for themselves. This past connection with Passignano seems to be a prophetic intuition of the future; almost eight centuries later as it became one of the Antinori family's most important estates in Chianti Classico, Badia a Passignano.

After seven long years of construction, the Antinori family inaugurated its innovative new winery in Chianti Classico on October 25th, 2012. It was designed to welcome visitors who are passionate about wine by showing them firsthand all phases of production, the history of the Antinori family, and the wine and culinary arts and traditions of the Tuscan territory. It is a state-of-the-art architectural wonder built with local building materials, eco-sustainable and respectful of the Tuscan countryside. But more than anything else, it is a tribute to the Chianti Classico countryside on behalf of the Antinori family, a renewal of their historical ties to the region.
